HI,
I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a New Zealander living in Sanur, with my wife and daughter.
This forum looks rather interesting and I can be an opinionated bastard at times so.......

An opinionated bastard- super- I'm sure you fit in well, welcome bastard! ...Simon- try giving a run down on your experience in Bali- why, how, kids school, work,,etc,, Im sure everyone wants to know.... thx , Frog....
Welcome to the forum Simon!
Any experiences you can share will be much appreciated. I bet you've seen the inside of Hardy's many times. It has a unique smell - I miss it.
I like Sanur, I met my wife there. :D
Two years in Sanur, on the wrong side of the Bypass (Batursari), and yes, Hardy's I know well but miss the little sandwich shop no longer by the door.
I'm a longtime music industry professional in NZ..still have interests in publishing and copyrights there, but in Bali I'm working with my wife, an interior designer of some reputation in NZ, in her work, sourcing for architects and developers in the Pacific, USA and NZ. She's also doing a bit of design work here and developing her own range
One daughter, aged 12, at Dyatmika, two dogs...one Bali, and one dachshund which is recovering from a cobra spitting in it's eye three days ago!
Politics...yes...slightly, but not much, left of centre in NZ, which makes me a card carrying confirmed radical pinko in US terms I think.
Is that enough?

I have seen you in cyberspace before. Good to have you, another genuine expat (as opposed to the wannabees like me), in the forum. I'm sure you can offer your own unique perspective.
I hope you will post some photos of your wife's work sometime. I have nothing to do with design but I'm interested in architecture and what people are building in Bali because I plan to build there.
A cobra? Ouch! Hope he's better soon.
Welcome SG.
As a teacher, I'm interested in what you think about Dyatmika. We're working on changing our school from an international school to a national plus school, and I'm interested in what foreigners who have children attending national plus schools think about them.
Our daughter has only just moved across from BIS, which we had our issues with ( I won't go into them here) so I've have a better perspective in a few weeks, but right now she's happier, she feels more challenged and we, as a consequence, feel happier. But I'll let you know...Originally Posted by drbruce

I can't understand why some schools are so coy about their fees. Why don't they publish their fee structures on their web sites?
Perhaps someone can enlighten me.
I know BIS (its in their year book which is, I think, online)...it's no secret I thinkOriginally Posted by Allan

You're right, the fees for BIS are in the handbook. They're a bit of an eye opener.
Should be a menu item!
